The Letter of St.Paul to Titus Chapter 3

The Letter of St. Paul to Titus

 Chapter  3

¹ Remind them to be subject to rulers and authorities, to be obedient, to be ready for every good work, ² to speak evil of no one, to avoid quarreling, to be gentle, and to show courtesy to everyone.

(The Letter of St. Paul to Titus Chapter 3 verses 1 to 2)

Oh God my beloved Father what sound instruction. This is what I am trying to live right now, however, the being gentle part is not easy for me especially at home. I am becoming tense and estranged from my family. I have become estranged from my feelings. I wish that You heal me from myself, for I feel unwell. You are the only one who can help me. Amen. Thank You, Jesus. I can only rely and depend on You!

³ For we ourselves were once foolish, disobedient, led astray, slaves to various passions and pleasures, passing our days in malice and envy, despicable, hating one another.

(The Letter of St. Paul to Titus Chapter 3 verse 3)

Oh God my Father as a human if I look back and even on my present in my cupboard I still find skeletons of my past sinful life, such as slavery to passions such as anger and pleasures and desires. I am a person who is still in need of inner healing. Only You can heal me, my God and Father Amen.

⁴ But when the goodness and loving kindness of God our Savior appeared, ⁵ he saved us, not because of any works of righteousness that we had done, but according to his mercy, through the water of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit.

(The Letter of St. Paul to Titus Chapter 3 verses 4 to 5)

Oh Holy Spirit of God my Father, I pray that You renew my soul, my Spirit and my mind so that I can be reborn and behave and think like You and not like my sinful self Amen.

⁶ This Spirit he poured out on us richly through Jesus Christ our Saviour, ⁷ so that having been justified by his grace, we might become heirs according to the hope of eternal life.

(The Letter of St. Paul to Titus Chapter 3 verses 6 to 7)

Oh God, my Father, I thank You for anointing me with Your Spirit amen and made me worthy to be one of Your many sons Amen.

⁸ The saying is true. I desire those who have come to believe in God may be careful to devote themselves to good works; these things are excellent and profitable to everyone.

(The Letter of St. Paul to Titus Chapter 3 verse 8)

Amen, I also pray for all who have in some way or other dedicated their lives, to You my God in the service of others to remain firm and disciplined so that we may bear good fruit and in doing so reflect Your goodness, for we are only instruments in Your hands Amen.

⁹ But avoid stupid controversies, genealogies, dissensions, and quarrels about the law, for they are unprofitable and worthless.

(The Letter of St. Paul to Titus Chapter 3 verse 9)

Oh God my blessed Father, many divisions are caused in relation to the interpretation of the Bible, because everyone wants to interpret it in some way or another, or according to this spirituality or to another, instead of leaving the Bible in its purity as it is. You are the only one who can interpret scripture because it has its origin and roots in You my God and Father, and only You can give this gift to whoever You desire Amen.

¹⁰ After a first and second admonition have nothing more to do with anyone who causes divisions, ¹¹ since you know that such a person is perverted and sinful, being self-condemned.

(The Letter of St. Paul to Titus Chapter 3 verses 10 to 11)

Oh God my beloved Father help me not to eliminate people from my life after a conflict, but to be ready to give the person a second time. However, in my situation, I allowed many chances and again and again, the same situation repeated itself. Therefore, in the end, I had to break the relationship altogether. Amen.

¹² When I send Artemas to you, or Tychicus, do your best to come to me at Nicopolis, for I have decided to spend the winter there.

(The Letter of St. Paul to Titus Chapter 3 verse 12)

Oh God, my beloved Father, this is one of the few times that the Apostle Paul has decided to do something on his own free will and not in Your name. I pray that I place You in the centre of my decision-making process Amen.

¹³ Make every effort to send Zenas the lawyer and Apollos on their way and see that they lack nothing.

(The Letter of St. Paul to Titus Chapter 3 verse 13)

For some reason St. Paul is requesting special treatment for these two people in the sense that he is requesting that they travel as first-class passengers. Oh God my Father, those of us who consider themselves as being leaders are to humble themselves by serving their subjects as You Yourselves told us Amen.

¹⁴ And let people learn to devote themselves to good works in order to meet urgent needs, so that they may not be unproductive.

(The Letter of St. Paul to Titus Chapter 3 verse 14)

Oh God, my beloved Father, these are the contrasts of life. Two chosen people were to have all their needs catered for and sen to St. Paul while the other people were urged to remain productive in order to meet the needs of others. There seems to have been a higher class and a middle or lower class that catered to the needs of others.

I pray for such classes to be abolished my God and Father, that we may live in a state where the have's share with the have not's and a state of equality and stability exists. Amen

¹⁵ All who are with me send greetings to you. Greet those who love us in the faith. Grace be with all of you.

(The Letter of St. Paul to Titus Chapter 3 verse 15)

Oh God, my blessed Father, and all my brothers and sisters on G+ across the world I also wish you graces and blessings Amen. May God be always with You Amen.

I would like to end this third and final chapter of St. Paul's letter to Titus with the following prayer:

Thank You oh God my Father for the manual of life that You have given us. Thank You for the Bible, this is the means on which we are to base our lives. I pray for the blessing of the Holy Spirit of God to fall on everyone of us, so that he can open our minds to understand the messages found in this holy book and also for a humble heart in order to control our natural self so that it will be ready to obey to all the calls that You make to us by means of the Bible and other forms of communication such as our friends and even relatives and the Church Amen.

God anoints us with Your Holy Spirit Amen in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit Amen.
